🍀 St. Patrick’s Day, DNA Traits & A Few Stories
A touch of Irish in this weekly newsletter, celebrating dear old Patrick
🍀 Today, 17th March 2025 is St. Patrick’s Day here in Ireland - the usual parades and madness are the order of the day. I personally don’t bother with any of it. I find it boring, to be honest. As a child, I was bought to watch parades and had green ribbons in my curly hair, it was a special day then, but not now. I just don’t see the sense in lining up on the street to watch stupid trucks and marches, and people prancing and dancing all over the street. Then later the pubs are packed and there is always trouble and fights without fail. Nope, it’s just not my scene.
The holiday honors St. Patrick, who brought Christianity to Ireland and chased out snakes, but like Christmas and Halloween, it’s less about the original meaning, and more about commercializing the day, with the true meaning being lost. I don’t know what anyone sees in it, but each to their own. We can’t all be the same.
Moving on…
🧬 On to this week’s writing! I’ve been diving into DNA traits—how genetics shape everything from our eye color to quirks we don’t even think about. If that sounds intriguing, here is my latest DNA trait story I wrote on Medium:
