What Are You Hiding From?
Have you ever questioned what you're hiding from? Our shadow self is one of the darkest places we never want to confront

Hello again,
It’s newsletter time. I’m hoping people are enjoying my content and will consider subscribing.
So let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. I’m really into Carl Jung, having studied Psychology in London in those exciting days. Firstly, I undertook modules at the London City Lit, in Humanistic Psychoanalysis and Childhood Psychology, and went on to complete my Psychology (Hons) Degree at night at Birkbeck College, University of London.
Studying famous Psychoanalysts (Jung, Freud, Adler, Segal, and Bowlby), as well as Philosophers, such as Jean-Paul Sartre, was the tip of the iceberg for me as a research Psychology student. I never studied these people enough. However, Carl Jung (1875-1961), the Swiss Psychoanalyst and Psychiatrist, was also a writer and poet and wrote about the creative process in literature. I read some of his books and was fascinated by how he posited the intra-psychic structure of our inner world and the power of the unconscious. Beneath our conscious self are hidden forces, which shape our decisions, emotions, and patterns. Carl Jung named this our Shadow Self - the unacknowledged part of ourselves that exerts influence over us, that we neither like, want nor accept.
Our shadow self is powerful in our lives - for better or worse. Integrating the shadow self into our psyche requires a certain openness to truth, which can be harsh and discomforting.
In my other newsletter,

I explore:
🔹 How your Shadow Self shapes your personality and choices.
🔹 The link between personal growth and embracing the unconscious.
🔹 Practical ways to integrate your shadow for transformation.

I also studied Carl Jung intensely as he significantly contributed to the body of knowledge in pscyhology and spirituality, bringing new perspectives. His read book and dream interpretations hooked me in my younger years, and I still revisit those insights. Thank you for writing about him and his teachings. I look forward to exploring them from your inspiring pen.
