What’s Coming Next?
How time flies - it's already time for my weekly Monday newsletter. I'm thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. What am I waiting for - let's go!
Hello Substack Subscribers 👋,
Welcome to my second newsletter on Substack. I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you so much for subscribing and being interested in my content!
Quick Note: I apologize for the delay in creating a proper welcome email for all new subscribers. It's now finally live. If you missed it, please check out my Substack About Page, which contains more or less the same information.
Moving on from Medium’s fiasco
What more can I say about what’s been happening over there? So many have written stories about it, as I have myself. If anyone hasn’t read it, this is my story - What Can We Learn from Medium's Algorithm and Earnings Fiasco? Despite how wrong this situation is, the best we can do is move on from it. I don’t think Medium intends to ‘fix’ these issues, and it’s either stay stuck or diversify, which is what I’m doing!
“Sometimes you’ve just got to pick up the broken pieces and move on!”
My ambitions for Substack
So moving forward, I will be sharing fresh insights and deep dives. I will be publishing a regular newsletter. Here’s a glimpse of the topics I’m passionate about and intend to write more about.
🧠 Exploring creativity, psychology, and social issues
🧬 Delving into DNA traits and how our genetic makeup influences our lives (using my own DNA trait analysis from two companies).
🌍 Thought-provoking stories on mental health, culture, and human connection
For those of you familiar with my work on Medium, you may like my stories about Carl Jung’s Shadow Self, Trauma Informed Therapy (Polyvagal Nervous System, or DNA trait analyses for Introversion vs. Extroversion, Being a Night Owl vs. Morning Person and The Science Behind Why Time Flies and DNA. These were Medium articles I wrote and imported. Writing newsletters on Substack is a great opportunity to dive deeper into these areas and reveal valuable insights. It’s something I am very excited about and which holds personal significance for me.
I first got my DNA tested on MyHeritage and Ancestry to find relatives, having grown up adopted, and not knowing my biological roots. Although I didn’t discover close relatives by DNA, I used my DNA to study trait analysis, uploading my data to a company called Genomelink. I also opted into Ancestry Personality Trait Analysis. The results revealed a lot about my genetic traits, even though the role of environment is an important factor.

Thank you for being part of this exciting journey!
I'm dipping my feet into Substack as well after writing on Medium for three years. I do hope they fix whatever is happening over there, but I'm also happy to try something new. Deep breaths!
I love the Medium community, too. As you said, they may not fix their issues. They probably can get away with it because they know how many of us value our friends and followers there. I'm debating changing my FOM membership back to the regular one. I'm going to wait and see what happens next month. If views and earnings are still tanking, I'll make the switch. It's really disappointing.
